Detailed description is Macro Micro Studio 2014 is a Masters unit at the University of Dundee's School of Architecture. The Macro Micro studio is a Masters Unit within the School of Architecture at Dundee University. Macro Micro is concerned with the theory, design and development of affordable, high quality, high performance housing in Scottish Urban and Rural Environments with a goal to achieving more sustainable low carbon communities.. . This year’s studio will focus on identity, regional form and sustainable rural and urban communities, through design and the study of theories. It will explore the relationship between people, place and environment, designs for minimum energy, in conjunction with spatial, material and formal quality.. . . These theories will be explored in the Schoolhouse in Cottown, and will provide a platform for our individual thesis’s. Through the projects we will carry out research into existing construction techniques and modern approaches to the vernacular. The nature of both projects allows us to work directly with stakeholders, giving us the opportunity to experience working on live projects.
