Detailed description is Estate Grown, Milled and Bottles Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We never buy oil or olives and proud to be the producer. Mad Dog Mesa is located in Coloma, California at about 1,800 feet overlooking the California Gold Discovery State Park. Our olives are produced from trees imported from France and Italy from which we make Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO). Our first olive trees were planted in 2001 and we currently have over 3,100 olive trees comprised of about 51 different varieties (primarily French). Many of our French varieties are grown at similar elevations in foothills of the Alps in Provence, France and in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains on France’s Western border with Spain. To the best of our knowledge, we are growing more French olive tree varieties than any other olive grower in the United States. This is our 10th year of making and selling organic estate grown olive oil. We NEVER buy olives or olive oil from other sources. Our Estate EVOO meets and exceeds the standards set forth by California Law, USDA, and the International Olive Oil Council (IOC).
