Detailed description is La Maison de la Famille Drummond est un lieu pour promouvoir et développer l'entraide entre tous les types de familles ayant des enfants âgés de 0 à 12 ans En aout 1993, deux mères de familles (Lyne Allaire et Céline Grégoire) se renseignent sur la possibilité de créer une association de parents d'enfants âgés de la naissance à douze ans dans un but de partage et d'entraide. . . . Elles forment un conseil d'administration provisoire en octobre 1993, avec l'aide du Centre d'Action Bénévole de Drummond et de quelques bénévoles. Le 17 décembre 1993, la Maison de la Famille, Drummond Inc. est légalement constituée. Les premières activités eurent lieu au printemps 1994, dont la plus grande fut sans doute la Journée internationale des Familles, le 15 mai, qui accueillit plus de trois-cents personnes.. . . Le conseil provisoire a poursuivi son travail jusqu'à la tenue de l'assemblée générale de fondation le 29 novembre 1994. Cinq parents furent élus pour former le premier conseil d'administration de la Maison de la Famille, complété par une représentante du CLSC Drummond et une autre du Centre d'Action Bénévole de Drummond. Le 1er décembre suivant, nous emménagions dans notre maison du 445, rue Saint-Georges. Pour répondre aux besoins grandissants des familles, le 1er mai 2005, la Maison de la Famille devient propriétaire d'un immeuble situé au 152 rue Saint-Damase, dans le quartier Saint-Jean-Baptiste, à Drummondville. . . . Depuis, la Maison de la Famille n'a cessé de s'épanouir. Pour permettre la tenue de toutes ces activités et services, nous comptons sur l'implication de huit employées et d'une centaine de bénévoles. Ce sont des adolescents, des parents, des grands-parents qui croient en la nécessité de soutenir les familles dans leur rôle parental.
