Manger Changes has set EAL programs in keeping with the Equine Assisted Learning BUILDING BLOCKS curriculum set by Tamara MacKinnon; recognized through Mount Royal University, Calgary School Divisions, University of Calgary Vet Medicine, Alberta's First Nation Bands and accredited through Equine Connection - The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning INC. The programs are designed to be objectively driven and to challenge leadership, articulation, active listening, creativity, communication, body language, teamwork, problem solving and adaptability in a group setting; enhancing individual growth. . . Equine Assisted Learning is a learner based educational experience with horses. It is an effective approach to human delvelopment that encourages individual and team growth. Participants engage in objectively driven exercises learning valuable life skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere. EAL has proven to be effective, powerful, positive, educational and creative.. . Horses are prey animals, they go against thier every instinct, overcome thier fears and learn to trust. They are a herd animal, with a natural family structure called a band. The band,. like family and business, has a complex hierarchy, with each member having pivitol roles within the dynamic. They look to thier leaders for structure and guidance, they are constantly assessing thier surroundings, and respond to stimuli which is honest and instant.
