Detailed description is Marriott-Slaterville City is located in Weber County and is a 5th Class City in the State of Utah. Settled in 1850, it was incorporated in 1999. Marriott-Slaterville is adjacent to and immediately west of Ogden City. John Marriott was the first permanent setter in Marriott, his namesake, in the early 1850s. Upon settlement the area was heavily timbered with a large Indian encampment close by. Trappers and fur tradesman frequented the area. Richard Slater became the namesake for Slaterville which is known for good farmland and pasture. Residents from Marriott and Slaterville voted to jointly incorporated and Marriott-Slaterville City was created on July 1, 1999. The Utah House of Representatives declared Marriott-Slaterville as the Model Open Space City for the state.
