He has the experience of working with adolescents and adults in various treatment settings which includes both psychiatric and substance abuse treatment facilities.. . He holds specialized training, experience, and certification providing services to the dual diagnosed population. He utilizes his education, experience, and skills to provide therapeutic services which include but are not limited to conducting assessments and engaging in treatment planning. He values working with the client to set realistic and achievable goals. He conducts individual, couples/marital, family, and group therapy. He uses various different therapeutic models and approaches such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) and SFT (Solution Focused Therapy) to provide the support and direction that clients seek and need on their journey to recovery and optimal mental health. He enjoys promoting creativity and the utilization of hope and recovery in the therapeutic process with his clients. In addition, he promotes and engages in collaboration between himself, his clients, client’s support system, and other treatment providers to ensure and promote clients’ optimal wellness. . . Matthew obtained his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University in Aurora, IL. He joined In Step Behavioral Health in August of 2015.
