Detailed description is Mike is the Republican nominee for State Senate in District 31. He’s a 21-year Navy veteran, 12-year small business owner, and first-time candidate. Mike grew up in Lackawanna, New York, where his father was a steel worker. He has lived in Gurnee for the last 14 years where he and his wife of 28 years, Marta, raised their three children: Tony, Sara, and Natalie. Mike spent 21 years of active duty in the US Navy as Chief Machinist’s Mate. He has a BS from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from Cameron University. After retiring from the Navy, Mike owned and operated a small business for 12 years. He is a first time candidate for office. Mike decided to run for State Senate because he is tired of seeing the career politicians in Springfield destroying our state.
