Detailed description is The MLKJr. COMMUNITY . OF GREATER KENNETT AREA is formed to revitalize in our community Martin Luther King’s dream of peace and harmony among all people. The Martin Luther King, Jr. CommUNITY Committee sponsors several intiatives. . . The annual MLK CommUNITY BREAKFAST was founded by Mabel Latta Thompson with the primary mission to revitalize within the Greater Kennett area community Martin Luther King's dream of peace and harmony among all people. . . The Martin Luther King, Jr., CommUNITY ADVOCATES are committed to building and promoting relationships based on equality, justice, and peace in the Kennett communities as we:deliberately intervene in existing organizations and structures; purposefully create forums for cross-racial, cross-cultural dialogues and interactions.. . The annual MLK Breakfast FOOD DRIVE reaches out for food & cash donations and volunteers in support of the Food Cupboard at the Kennett Area Community Services. . . The Martin Luther King, Jr. DAY OF SHARING. is a one-day community wide volunteer effort held on Dr. King's birthday dedicated to projects benefiting local non-profit agencies and their clients.. . The Committee invites all Southern Chester County residents and organizations to participate in the initiatives of the MLK CommUNITY committee. Individuals or organizations interested in participating should contact mlkdayofsharing@gmail.com or mlkfooddrive@gmail.com.. . The annual CommUNITY Breakfast is held on the third Monday of January and ticket information is available at 610-444-4357.
