Detailed description is Early Years outdoor/nature program for 3-5 year olds. Home based program, large yard, easy access to Northeast Woods. Licensed facility. Certified ECE, Monkey Tree Early Years Nature Program in Comox is located in a quiet neighborhood next to the Northeast Woods.. . Monkey Tree aims to be high quality childcare program for children between the ages of three and five years.. . Focusing on what we have been gifted, the natural world is our classroom. Children will be outdoors for the majority of the morning program, taking advantage of our local forest.. . One Early Childhood Educator and six children provide a rich, intimate, and engaging interaction with peers and the natural world. A nature program that will be driven by children's interests, both here at Monkey Tree and out exploring in the forest, and other earthly areas! Children are competent, curious, and able to create their own theories, and Monkey Tree is here to support this. Honoring childhood and promoting the importance of nature in our daily lives, unstructured play, and big blocks of time for exploration and discovery.. . What this all means is that OUTDOOR PLAY and NATURE ROCKS!. . Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 12:00pm and the afternoon extends until 3:00pm for those families in need with the exception of Thursdays as I am a Volunteer Instructor with Roots of Empathy. Monkey Tree follows the Comox Valley School District 71 Calendar for holidays and closures.. This Monkey Tree home has one 16 month old English Springer Spaniel, who does not participate in the children's program. She is a lovely pup, but a little too springy and lovey.. . ROBINS are 4 year olds on Monday/Wednesday/Friday.. CHICKADEES are 3 year olds on Tuesday/Thursday.. . Elizabeth has been happily working with children and families for 15 years in BC and Alberta. An honour graduate and Valedictorian for Mount Royal University, Calgary, AB in 2002, and an advocate for childhood play and the natural world.. . .
