Detailed description is The Leadership Monroe Class of 2017 is creating Monroe County's first ball field for children and residents of all abilities and we need your support! The Leadership Monroe Class of 2017, in partnership with the Monroe County Recreation Department, is creating a recreational sports facility for children and residents of all abilities. This project will make it possible for all citizens in Monroe County to enjoy participating in organized sports with local friends and neighbors. There is currently no such facility for sports enthusiasts within a 30-mile radius of Forsyth. . . Ballfield #8 at the Monroe County Recreational Department will be retrofitted to feature open access dugouts with solar shades for comfort, a concrete pad throughout the dugouts, stands and backstop area, new fencing, and audience bleachers. Each dugout and base will be wheelchair accessible.. . The project will reflect design features of the nearby All Abilities Playground that is currently under construction. Additionally, the field will be prepped for a future installation of rubber turf.. . With a target completion of Fall 2017, demolition of the current Ballfield #8 is scheduled for June.
