The Mass Transportation Authority (MTA) is the public transportation provider for Flint and Genesee County, Michigan. The MTA was incorporated in 1971 under the Michigan Public Act 55 of 1963 and now operates a family of services including primary fixed routes, peak period routes, regional routes, and paratransit services. Annual ridership is over 6 million passengers. Regional service is provided to destinations in Lapeer, Livingston, Oakland, Saginaw, Shiawassee, and Washtenaw counties. Service operates seven (7) days a week, but each route has a unique schedule. The MTA is governed by a Board Authority and funded by Federal and State grants, local millage dollars, and farebox revenue.
