Detailed description is The Mustang Sport Horse and Pony Registry is inspection driven, DNA type registry, where horse and pony sized mustangs are promoted to the USEF level. Several previously adopted mustangs compete at world level and have become gold medal horses. As such this registry was created to promote all mustang horses and ponies where owners desire to go to the next level and be recognized locally, nationally, and internationally for their efforts.. . The "B" registry is for all Branded mustangs to join without the need for a formal inspection but a sport must be declared on the registration application. Awards are based on rider only, the horse/pony may not receive any awards.. . The "A" book registry is an "inspection driven", DNA-typed, section of the registry meaning that all candidates for the "A" registry will have been reviewed by judges and scored accordingly to their sport of choice, and hair samples will be collected for DNA sampling. DNA type will be listed on the registration papers. "A" registry horses, ponies, and riders qualify for all awards listed with the MSHPR®.. . Selecting a sport of choice, does not limit the cross-over of point accumulation through multiple sports; however, the points will be individually tabulated per sport. "A" registry horses may accumulate points from any show or event, excluding schooling shows, up to USEF sanctioned events.. . "B" registry may accumulate points from any show or event excluding schooling shows. Points from USEF sanctioned events will not be tabulated. A person may upgrade their registry to "A" at any mustang inspection or participating in a formal inspection with partners throughout the country. . . During mustang inspections all equines must be barefoot. All pony candidates must be measured at 14.2 or below.. . For section "A" inspection, all equines must be groomed to USEF show standards for their inspection area or penalized. Pony candidates will be required to go through measuring. If they do not qualify for pony 14.2 hands or under), they may be inspected in the Horse section instead. The inspection areas are: Dressage, Eventing, Hunter, Jumper, Endurance, Harness, and Reining. Each equine is shown in hand, 3 and over in the bridle, on the triangle and inspected for manners, way of going, willingness, and general impression for the sport selected in all divisions. Following triangle inspection, Eventers and Hunters will be inspected over poles with one small cross rail, and one low oxer on the free; Jumper will be inspected over poles with one vertical and one high oxer also on the free. Endurance and Harness following triangle inspection will be exhibited on the straight the full length of the arena from walk, trot, extended trot, walk and halt. Reining will be inspected on the triangle followed by roundpen work completing a compulsory exercise, including rollbacks and lead changes .. . Each handler must wear khakis, a plain brown leather belt, a blue polo tucked in, white tennis shoes, brown or black boots. No hats or helmets allowed. All handlers must be 18 years old or over. No smoking is allowed during inspections. . . To summarize: there is a "B" registry for all Branded mustangs. The inspection provides for those who want to go to the next level and enter the "A" registry, being DNA-typed, where competition at rated shows is generally performed and year-end awards and well as mustang horse and mustang pony of year is nominated by members and selected based on show points and successes.. . In section "B", year-end awards may be received by riders only depending on shows attended at any level. The B section does not qualify for rider of the year awards, or any horse award.. . This is a family oriented registry promoting children in events with their mustang ponies, pony clubbers are welcome as well as novice and experienced adults. . .
