Myth Kafe, originally "Greek Myth" was started by a small family who had recently immigrated to Houston due to the worsening economic crisis in Greece.
The mother cooked, the father took residence in the corner table to observe the clientele, and the son waited tables, manned the grill, and rang people up on the cash register.
In a little under a year, they gained a reputation for serving authentic Greek food with careful attention paid to quality of meats, cheeses, vegetables, and olive oil- the most quintessential ingredient in Mediterranean food.
When the parents chose to return to Greece and the son, back to his career as an engineer, three patrons- all friends who had worked in Athens, Greece, catering to tourists- decided to take the helm and continue the tradition.
Harry- the cook, trained with "Yia Yia" Maria to be certain he knew the kitchen's secrets.
