Detailed description is Beautiful black Lab/Pitty Mix - FOUND my forever home!! .When I was just a tiny pup, a very loving boyfriend got me for his 16 year old girlfriend. I lived with her up until the time she went off to college. Since she was going to be living in the dorms, she couldn't take me with her and her family didn't want to keep me at their house. My sweet, young owner searched for the perfect home for me and found it in a wonderful older single lady.. . I made the switch to my new home and we got along great. One day we were hiking in the Ochocos and I decided to wander off. I kept going and going as my poor new owner was frantically searching for me. She actually tried to find me for 3 weeks. But then a tragedy happened, and she died. At just about the same time, the Shelter's manager found me and because I couldn't get along with her own dogs, brought me in to the shelter as a stray. . . When I gained national notoriety last December for saving my pal Chadwick, my first owner called the shelter and said, "I think that was my dog, Onyx!" She described me in such implicit detail that they knew I had to be her "Onyx", since renamed Nala. Well, she's still in college and still can't have me, but she's praying that just the right home will come forward to adopt me. . . My name is "Nala" and that's my story.....
