Guaranteed Satisfaction. Native Beadwork by Desiree is a small Aboriginal business that specializes in creating custom orders that are made to fit the consumers’ personal wants and needs. Aboriginal peoples & collectors are always looking for custom made items that fit their desire and I deliver that service. Mixing culture with today's trends is carrying the past into the future, its' pride I like to deliver.. . My interest for beadwork all started in Nohkoms (My Grandmothers') sewing room 16yrs years ago, seperating her mixed beads for her with my cousins/sisters. She picked up her thread and needle and continued beading the beautifully designed moccasins she made for a Powwow dancer, a piece that would soon have meaning to an individual. She said the feeling is good for the heart, its good to see someone happy with something you created just for them. I studied her skill, adopted her talent and started my own little projects like bracelets on the loom, on hide,mini keychain moccasins &mitts. I too started making people smile, and proud to say I been inspired by nohkom Helen Montour, hardworker, housewife, and entrepeneur ever since.. . Today I currently make earrings, beautiful beaded lanyards, necklace sets and I take orders from interested customers. I offer discounts for 2nd time purchases. What I do is a hobby that I love and enjoy, but will not spend all day doing lol so in coming weeks I will recuit some more skilled set ladies to fill some orders :). .
