Detailed description is New Beginnings Adult Day Care, Respite and Personal Care Services is designed to provide a safe, fun, activity filled environment for the aged and disabled over the age of 21 who meet requirements for licensing and funding. Our creed at New Beginnings is "Helping others help themselves".. . Our services are specific to meet the needs of individuals who would normally be considered "shut-ins", those who cannot drive or who have no one to transport them, individuals who live alone or who have some debilitating illness or condition.. . The participants at New Beginnings range in age from 21 years old to 95. The physical and mental conditions of participants at New Beginnings range from Alzheimer's and dementia to blindness, amputation, autism, down syndrome, schizophrenia, diabetes and a host of other illnesses.. . On a daily basis, we provide transportation to the participants to and from the facility. Upon arriving at the center, we provide a light breakfast consisting of foods such as waffles, grits, toast, cereal, muffins, coffee, milk and juice. The attendees have several activities in which they can participate including arts and crafts, coloring, puzzles, playing the piano, singing, dancing and watching movies on special occasions. All activities are designed in order to give participants the opportunity to interact socially with other people in groups or individually. The New Beginnings staff consists of Nurses, Certified Nurses Aides, a Social Worker, transporters, a marketing specialist, a human resource specialist and a certified cook.. . New Beginnings services are voluntary to all participants which enables individuals to come whenever they wish. We are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and upon request, will remain open after 6 p.m. if the need arises.. . As a compliment to our Adult Day Care, we now offer Personal Care and Respite Services for clients living alone or with a caregiver. Our Personal Care Service is responsible for cleaning the homes of clients, delivering Meals on Wheels, and running errands. Personal Care Service is provided from 1 to 5 days a week depending upon the plan of care for each client. In-home respite service I provided for clients in order to give caregivers an opportunity to get away from home and take care of their personal business.. . New Beginnings services are paid by Medicaid Waiver, private insurance and private pay. The Medicaid Waiver program is administered through the state of Mississippi and individuals qualify based upon their income. Individuals who desire to enroll in New Beginnings should contact the office and set up a time for an evaluation and interview. At that time, we will submit the proper paperwork to the Medicaid Waiver office on behalf of the individual to see if they qualify for the waiver program. Individuals may also call our office and give us information over the phone which we will submit to the Medicaid Waiver office on their behalf.. .
