North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue is a career department tasked with fire protection to the municipality of North Myrtle Beach and a few "contract areas" of unincorporated Horry County.. . North Myrtle Beach covers 13.5 square miles along the coast of South Carolina.The Grand Strand beaches house one of the largest tourist destinations in the country.. . Staffing for the department consists of 46 full time career staff on a 24/48 shift as well as 5 additional personnel on 40 hour work weeks. The staff is supplemented by Patrol Officers on shift as our department is Public Safety and all Road Patrol Officers are trained to the NFPA Firefighter I Level. Currently, the department operates 4 Pumpers, 1 Quint, 1 Tower, 1 Rescue, and 1 Battalion Vehicle out of 5 Stations throughout the City.. . Our Headquarters is located in the main complex which includes our Police Dept, Admin Staff, Dispatch, and Jail. . .
