Detailed description is I am a motivational speaker to "At Risk" individuals, specializing in working with teenagers and children in the foster care system. What is pain with a purpose?. . My pains’ purpose is to empower others to overcome their circumstances and achieve a sense of self pride.. . I know you because I am you.... . The struggles of childhood for some are abundant, whether they are a product of the foster care system or are secretly suffering at home with undocumented mental, physical or emotional abuse. . . These children need to establish an expectation of optimism in their life, but finding the strength, courage and conviction to do so can overwhelm them based on their current situations. Often positive role models are hard to find in the midst of their circumstances and the odds are stacked against these children. . . The message I relay is about my own trials and tribulations as a child who suffered silently and later in the foster care system. I relay a message of hope, encouragement, perseverance, optimism and strength. Most importantly, I convey to them they are not alone and should not be shamed by their circumstances.. . I’ve overcome:. • Alcohol & Drug addicted parents. • Homelessness. • Extreme Poverty . • Family abandonment. • Physical & Mental abuse. • Bullying. • Multiple foster home placements. • The loss of a loved one including:. • My father to cirrhosis of the liver . • My mother to AIDS . • My best friend to cancer. .
