With the exception of the west leg of Devonshire Crescent, the roadway served as a shortcut for motorists wanting to cross between Diefenbaker & Centennial Drives without using Lisgar Avenue, which also connects the two roadways. Monck Avenue was replaced by Childers Crescent when the first phase of Kensington was built. It is unknown whether or not the City of Saskatoon plans to reuse the Monck name on any future streets.
