Detailed description is Park Place School is an urban private Christian school whose mission is to build strong spiritual and academic foundations to prepare students for success. Curriculum: Instruction in the basic skills is intense. Subject areas include Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Writing and Mathematics. We implement instructional strategies that are research based. We use Virginia Standards of Learning and Common Core Curriculum as basic guidelines, but also take into account the strengths of the students. Other classes include Bible, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, Art and Music. There is a computer lab where students take a class in keyboarding and Microsoft Office. The lab is also used frequently during various class times. . Class Size and Professional Staff: Our homerooms have a maximum of 12 students. Group sizes range from 1-6 students with a teacher. Our core teachers are degreed and have professional licensure. Our enrichment teachers are all qualified to teach from their professional expertise.
