Detailed description is Welcome to Paula's Piano Notes! Offering premier piano lessons for all music lovers. My name is Paula Jewson and I love working with all ages of piano students to further their development and love for music. I offer private lessons in my home on Tuesdays and Thursdays that are one half hour in length. Students are expected to attend their scheduled lessons each week. My goal in teaching is not to prepare your student for the school of Juilliard but to give them a love for playing the piano and enjoying and appreciating music. Students are expected to take a weekly lesson. Piano like anything else, is a commitment and lessons need to be taken on a regular basis. An illness or family emergency are the only valid excuses for a missed lesson and you will be credited a lesson in the event of an illness or emergency. In any other event, you will be charged for a missed lesson. If you know that there needs to be a schedule change ahead of time, please call me as soon as possible to arrange for that. I will do my best to accommodate your schedule with mine. If there is a snow day, I will still be available to teach if you are able to make it out, weather permitting of course. If I need to cancel your lesson for any reason there will be no charge for the lesson. . . Please spend time each day practicing your assigned lessons. Carry your materials to and from lessons in a bag and bring all materials you are working with each week. Don't forget your notebook. I write important information concerning payments and when your next lessons are and any notes to parents in these notebooks and vice a versa. I feel that students need to have goals for themselves on practicing and learning new songs and music. Students need to spend enough time practicing until they have accomplished a set goal or goals for themselves and can see their progress. Don't even think about the clock! The minutes will click by so quickly whey you are absorbed in practicing your goals. Enjoy the time you spend at the piano. Please be prompt for each lesson so that we can utilize the full 30 minute time frame that has been set aside for you. . . Each month you will be given a calendar in which you are to mark your practicing times down. Having these calendars marked or initialed when you come to lessons enables you to put your name in for a drawing each week that you are here. At the end of the month, 4 winners will be chosen to receive a gift card totaling $5 each to a place within Fort Wayne. Winners will also be listed on my face book page each month.. .
