Detailed description is To facilitate social change and economic development in Riverside (Town of Southampton) and the Riverhead community joined together by the Peconic River. The Peconic River Community Development Alliance, Inc. (PRCDA) is a community based organization whose goal is to facilitate social change and economic development in the adjacent communities of the Hamlet of Riverside in the Town of Southampton and the Riverhead community joined together by the Peconic River. It is the mission of PRCDA to facilitate that change and development through the arts, education, the coordination of broad range community resources including local businesses, municipalities, and other non-for-profit organizations. The PRCDA believes that economic development and social change are intrinsically linked to broad based community engagement. It is the mission of PRCDA to stimulate and sustain that engagement through creative and innovative programs. Further, PRCDA is formed for the charitable and artistic purpose of planning, funding, and producing public art displays and programs and other activities along Long Island’s Peconic River, in the surrounding communities and beyond to educate the public about art, the environment, social equity and to build community economic and personal vitality, to engage citizens in civic improvements, and to create public attractions and events for the benefit of the citizens and visitors to the region.
