Penobscot Valley Senior College provides adults with many fun-filled opportunities to learn everything you have always wanted to know about a wide array of facinating topics. The curriculum is designed especially for people who are 50 years old or older. Members of the Penobscot Valley Senior College may take courses at other Senior Colleges in the Maine Senior College Network.. . MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS. To take advantage of PVSC’s opportunities, an annual membership is required. . Eligibility: 50 years of age or older (or spouse or partner of a member that age) . Annual Membership Fee: $25 ($40 for two people living together). • Fee covers our fiscal year of July 1 to June 30.. • Membership allows access to programs of all senior colleges in the Maine Senior College Network.. College Experience: None required!! Bring your life experience!. . COURSES. We offer an array of topics on the arts, natural sciences and more. . Fees: $30 per course for most courses, including learning materials.. • Those requiring creative supplies or field trips may cost a bit more.. Terms: Twice per year, usually 6 weekly 2-hour sessions on Fridays. • Fall (late September to early November). • Spring (late February to early April). Locations: Most sessions are held in accessible college classrooms with free parking available.. • Orono: University of Maine near Collins Center for the Arts. • Bangor: University of Maine at Augusta near BIA. Homework and Attendance: No tests! No grades!. • Reading is minimal except for literature courses.. • Attendance is voluntary. If you need to miss a class, it’s okay..
