During the Georgia National Fair in October each year, the visitor count increases to approximately 35,000 per day. Our jurisdiction covers approximately 26 square miles and includes houses and apartment complexes, businesses and industrial parks, recreational facilities, schools, churches, an airport, and shopping centers. We are a multi-faceted professional public safety organization serving a fast-paced, multi-cultural and raidly growing community. . . In 2013, officers responded to over 31,000 calls for service and over 600 motor vehicle crashes. The Perry Police Department employs 35 sworn officers and 8 support persons. All Perry Police Department officers are certified by the Georgia Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Council. The department is state certified by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. . . Lynn who is currently assisted by two police captains and one police lieutenant who serve as division commanders.
