Detailed description is This is the official fan page for the Eta Phi Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, located at The University of Southern Mississippi. Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a nationally-recognized men's social fraternity, bringing together musicians of any and all walks of life together within a common bond. Sinfonia is open to any male college student or faculty member of at least 18 years of age who has a love of music and wants to better himself as a man and as a musician.. . Phi Mu Alpha currently holds 239 chapters in 45 states and has initiated over 100,000 members throughout the years.. . The original Eta Phi chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia was brought to USM's campus on May 15, 1957. After over 50 years of dedication to Sinfonia and the music department at USM, the Eta Phi Chapter went inactive in 2007.. . In the Fall of 2009, Phi Mu Alpha was reintroduced to the students at USM. Men were recruited for the cause and Eta Phi was granted colony status on December 8, 2010. Just over a year and a half later, after much hard work and dedication, the colony was approved for Phase II of colonization and on October 28, 2012, the Eta Phi Chapter was reactivated.
