Detailed description is Join us on the journey of rebuilding a Piha Icon the legendary Piha Fish & Chip shop at South Piha, tragically burnt down by arson May this year. Tragically burnt down by arson, this event out of the blue has impacted not just the May family who have owned the shop since the early 70's but locals and non locals alike. Originally built in 1958 this unique shop has stood the test of time until a moment of madness changed our lives forever. We are completely gutted, as are the community that we are in this situation. But we are resolute and we will rebuild. This page is to celebrate the past 5 decades... but also with an eye to the future and fingers crossed a quick rebuild. #rebuildingapihaicon #pihaicon
