We seek to build community through arts-centric programming. . . In 2013, ReCreative Spaces originated as an initiative to transform vacant commercial properties into short-term hubs of creativity. We formed a pARTnership with The Menkiti Group, who provided the space. . . Our first place, located on Bunker Hill Road in NE DC, was a three month project that focused on art gallery, class, and meeting space. Our next location, a few blocks away on Rhode Island Avenue NE, housed gallery + exhibition space, and also focused on community arts events and rehearsal space. . . In November of 2015, ReCreative Spaces opened its first long-term location in Mount Rainier, MD - in the heART of the Gateway Arts District.. . We continue to work in partnership with developers and business owners to make spaces that are inviting, filled with creativity, and that are accessible to artists and those interested in art.
