Detailed description is Rendition Arts LLC is a company that has captured and rendered prehistoric rock art (petroglyphs) from the American Southwest into the contemporary media of steel...metal art for many to own and appreciate. The desire for artistic expression by man has existed for thousands of years. Rock art was one of the first forms of this expression and is a connection to our past. The artists of long ago used rocks, cave walls and cliffs as their canvas, and chiseled or pecked away the surface creating petroglyphs. While the majority of rock art seems to depict everyday observations, things and events, most of the designs captured by Rendition Arts LLC are from petroglyphs of an abstract or symbolic nature . While this rock art has existed for hundreds of years, it continues to suffer the consequences of time due to weathering, theft and vandalism. Thus, it is paramount that the rock art designs that exist today be preserved and appreciated. These prehistoric art designs were most likely created by hunters from the various ancient cultures from what is now the American Southwest and northern Mexico typically 600-900 years ago. Today there are no known living descendants who still practice this art form, nor anyone who understands their true meaning. Therefore, we are left to appreciate these designs for their intrinsic beauty, and their meaning is left to our imaginations. Every effort has been made to replicate the designs as they were originally found. Every Rendition Arts piece has a rich rust patina and is made from 3/16" steel, welded hangers and standoffs on the back to allow for attractive, easy hanging and may be displayed indoors or outdoors.
