Detailed description is Convergence is a two-day symposium of three-dimensional fine art and craft taking place at Rhode Island College on November 2nd & 3rd! All artists & craftspeople are welcome to attend! Convergence is the first student run art symposium at RIC. . There will be a focus on three-dimensional fine arts, and crafts. All artists and craftspeople are welcome to attend! . With this event we are hoping to expose students to a wide array of techniques, materials, styles, and traditions. And by doing so, allowing students to see past the boundaries of their field, and encourage a crossover that can enrich the art community as a whole. . Where is the rule that says a ceramicist can't use metal in their work? Or that a silversmith can't make furniture? Simply put, there is no such rule. By sharing and learning from one another the individual artist can explore their own work, and purpose, with greater skill and understanding of the tools we all utilize as visual artists.
