Detailed description is Richmond Engineering Works was formed in 1996 by former employees of Svedala (now Metso Minerals). The early focus of the company were electrical and control upgrades. Some of our other projects include bulk and material handling along with conveying systems, water treatment systems, and ash handling systems.. . In 2009, several experienced mechanical/structural engineers were added to our staff. In 2011, we received our first contract to design, build, and install a rotary car dumper. The dumper was completed in 2012. . . In 2013, we designed and supplied 2 of the most powerful Train Positioners in the USA. . . In 2017 we will deliver and install 3 more rotary car dumpers; this will bring REW to a total of 6 rotary car dumpers. . . The company now has 30 full time employees; many of our employees previously worked at Heyl & Patterson or Metso. Our employees have over 310 man years of experience in deign, construction, and maintenance of bulk material handling machines. . The engineers at REW still travel to customer's sites to perform inspections and upgrades.
