Detailed description is A 501(C)(3) Not-for-Profit Corporation founded to support the River Raisin National Battlefield Park and its educational and memorial mission The Battlefield Foundation works extensively to support the development and implementation of curriculum-based educational programming, living history activities, interactive exhibits, visitor facilities and Battlefield protection that engender an understanding of the War of 1812.
Educational programming is conducted from five major perspectives including American Indian (Wyandot, Huron, Potawatomi, Ottawa, Ojibawa, Shawnee, Miami, and Seneca history); African-American (Free and Slave); French Settlers; United States (Frontier, Kentucky, and Early State); and British & Canadian Settlers.
As visitors and students immerse in the history of the River Raisin from new perspectives the Battles national and international significance come alive in their hearts and minds..
