Detailed description is We are a community robotics team based out of Ashland, Va R.A.T.C.O.T.U. is a community FTC and FRC robotics team based in Ashland, VA. We accept anyone and because we aren’t a school team we aren’t confined by school rules or hours. We work out of a machine shop that we have full access to and meet every Tuesday and Thursday. Because we are a community based team and don’t have access to the funding and influx of students that comes with being part of a school, we have frequent outreaches that range from going to businesses to showcase the robots to simply showing off the bots at an event to hopefully inspire other young people to join our team. We even have trips to places like Wallops Island Flight Facility to not only show off the robots but to learn and have fun. Despite this we don’t charge anything to join and we are student run. We do have OSHA certified mentors to help out in the machine shop. We do everything else ourselves and if you’re not interested in building you can help out by learning CAD or programing. We are always looking for new members to join so contact us with any questions!. .
