Detailed description is Play-based and Waldorf-inspired Kindergarten in Norman, Oklahoma. Known until recently as The Purple House, Rose Rock School has been providing loving childcare for four years in Norman, OK. The Kindergarten was added in 2010 and has enjoyed a very successful first year. The overwhelming response and demand for our program have inspired our current expansion plans. . . We offer innovative education in a nurturing environment. Our Kindergarten is held in a comforting home-like atmosphere that provides many natural opportunities for learning. We offer a mixed-age setting, where the children socialize in a close-knit community, cooperating with and caring for each other. The children interact daily with the natural world. They care for our garden, relate with animal life, and play outside in all seasons. . . Each meal is homemade with fresh, whole, organic food and served family-style around a beautiful, simply set table. The older children help with all aspects of meal preparation and clean-up. Each day is infused with the joyful work of a happy home, and the crafts and tasks change as we progress through the year.. . Presently we wish to add a first grade class in August 2012. In the Waldorf tradition, our first grade teacher will ideally follow the children each consecutive year through the eighth grade. A new teacher is then added each year for the incoming first graders, likewise growing with their class until Grade 8. Our teachers will be recruited from certified Waldorf teacher training programs.. .
