Detailed description is A collaboration of Duke and Stanford Universities to provide student athletes with opportunities for international, immersive summer volunteer service. ACE Overview. . Duke University and Stanford University launched the Rubenstein-Bing Student-Athlete Civic Engagement (ACE) Program in Spring 2015 to provide student-athletes with opportunities for immersive civic engagement experiences. Recognizing the challenge for student-athletes to fully participate in many of the offered campus programs, Duke and Stanford are meeting this need together by offering student-athletes greater access to civic engagement and service opportunities through ACE. . . ACE provides one-time funding for accepted Duke-Stanford ACE athletes to participate in three-week, immersive summer service experiences with an international community partner. Each summer, 40 Duke-Stanford ACE athletes – 20 Blue Devils and 20 Cardinals – will participate in one of four international group programs with diverse service themes including health outreach, education, environmental sustainability and conservation, coaching, and more. Each program site will host approximately 10 Duke-Stanford ACE athletes – five from each institution – in keeping with the collaborative spirit of the program.. .
