The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center program is effectively unique in that it is a holistic approach to behavioral change, developed to redirect addictive thoughts and replace addictive habits. Recovering addicts rebuild their lives through a long-term, self-help, 180-day residential program that can extend up to 365 days, based on individual progress. . . The ARC approach to recovery encourages self-reflection and acknowledgment to change the circumstances that initially led a participant to abuse drugs or alcohol to avoid a relapse. The ARC also provides program participants with chemical dependency education, anger management and domestic violence intervention, community outreach and relapse prevention education.. . Each program participant is provided with a clean and healthy living environment, nutritious food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling and spiritual direction, along with resources to develop life skills and a personal relationship with God.. . With available capacity for more than 400 patients simultaneously, the ARC is able to quickly enroll those seeking substance abuse rehabilitation.
