Detailed description is Massachusetts Maritime Academy hosts visiting students each Spring semester. Are you ready? MMA is!. . MMA faculty, staff and students look forward to every spring, as a new class of exchange students arrive to campus. Since 2009, MMA has hosted vising students; first, from Shanghai Maritime University and most recently from Dalian Maritime University. A total of about 25 students visit our campus from these two prestigious universities. The same number of MMA students are then chosen to host visiting student. . . Hosts are chosen every year to live with and teach visiting student about the U.S. and MMA culture. They are usually sophomores that will then travel and study at Shanghai Maritime University. These students open their home and become almost a sibling to the visiting cadets. . . In the Spring, visiting students and hosts participate in many activities and events. MMA takes students to Boston, New York and Washington DC. They also get to enjoy on-campus and off-campus activities such as going snow tubing, hiking, visiting elementary schools, shopping, attending the Ring Dance, biking around Martha's Vineyard, going home with hosts, and much much more.. . Visiting students will also have a chance to teach U.S. citizens about their culture in events that they create and facilitate. . . In all, MMA provides an intercultural experience where all participant can obtain lifelong lessons.. . To visiting students:. .
