The University at Albany, SUNY Student National Medical Association – Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students chapter seeks to provide students-of-color with an organization that offers a variety of information necessary for the pursuit of a career in medicine/health. SNMA–MAPS membership is open to all who wish to make a difference in health and medical concerns of underserved populations. We aim not only to provide relevant information to pre-medical students regarding the medical school application process, but to also promote participation in community service activities in the under-served communities ofAlbany, addressing issues of healthcare disparities with hopes to increase the number of successful minority applicants into the healthcare field.
