Detailed description is Our mission: Sharing fun and friendship through recreational, social, and educational programs for teens and adults with developmental differences. SMCR membership is free.. . SMCR is a private non-profit organization that promotes the inclusion of persons with developmental differences into the life of our community. We advocate for individuals with special needs, to recognize the inherent dignity that is theirs because they are members of our one human family.. . SMCR is an organization that enhances the quality of life for those with developmental differences and their care givers. We offer a wide range of recreational and educational programs for teens and adults with developmental differences. Our programs are opportunities for fun, friendship, and inclusion into the local community for a group that is often overlooked by communities.. . SMCR adapts to meet the needs of our members. A small sampling of the programs offered includes the following: dances, cooking classes, exercise classes, creative arts, collaboration with local religious institutions to accommodate and welcome. . . Programs are held throughout the Southern Maryland Tri-County area. We welcome inquiries from anyone interested in hosting a program/activity.
