Clinics are held in the Waianae area (Oahu) at The Hawaii SPCA Animals are fixed through Dr. Sabina De Giacomo - a board-certified veterinarian with more than 30 years’ experience.. . Cat spays & neuters cost $30, Dogs are $65. Small animals (ie: rabbits, guinea pics, chinchillas, rats, etc.) can also be neutered for $65. This fee covers anesthesia, surgery procedure, micro-chip (if your animal does not already have one), antibiotics, and take home pain medication. . . These clinics are held in Maili (Waianae area), and directions will be emailed to you once you are on our list. Drop off can be as early as 7am. . Pick up time varies due to the order that the animals are brought into surgery, and how long it takes for your animal(s) to wake up. We will call you to let you know when your animal is awake and ready to go home, generally between 2pm and 11pm.. You do not need to bring medical records to show proof that your animal has been vaccinated. You only need to bring the paperwork that will be sent to you via email. Please note that your animal can NOT have vaccinations within 3 days prior to or after spay or neuter, to ensure there is no reaction between the vaccine and the anesthesia. Please let us know if your pet has any special needs when booking or checking in (ie: one testicle, deaf, separation anxiety, dog aggressive, etc.). We will spay and neuter animals 6 weeks and up - boys must be 1.5lbs and girls must be 2.5lbs. . Please note that EACH pet you bring to out clinic MUST have their OWN carrier separate from other animals. Carriers must be hard plastic or wire; NO SOFT SIDED OR BAG CARRIERS ARE ALLOWED. Feral cats MUST be in a HUMANE TRAP. If you have a question about what type of carrier is allowed, please ask. If you check in with a carrier that is not allowed or if you bring multiple pets in the same carrier, you will not be allowed to leave your pet and we will have to reschedule your appointment. This is for the safety of your fur babies!. We have approximately 45-50 spots at each clinic, which are typically offered once a month. Once you COMPLETE your registration online and your payment or payment arrangement has been received, we will add you to our appointment list. . Once a date is fully booked, we will create a post on our page and will not accept new client applications unless we have other dates confirmed and available. If it is posted that our slots are full and you send your information anyway, we apologize, but we will not be able to do anything with that information as we do not maintain a wait list. Please watch the page until we open a new date to send your information in. . CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that we need at least a 24 hour notice if you cancel your appointment. If you wait until the night before the event or the morning of the event to cancel, you will be put on a warning list. If you NO SHOW for an event and do not contact us to let us know you needed to reschedule, you will not be allowed to book again with us in the future. The Hawaii SPCA is able to provide these spay and neuter services at a low cost to the public because we work a very long day with a very full schedule. We are very understanding if you need to reschedule your appointment and are happy to help you with that, but we need time to allow for another animal to take that place. When we have several people who cancel their appointment at the last minute, or don't show for their appointment, it is not cost effective for ACF to hold these events.
