Squad 2020 is a voluntary research study being conducted with students in the Brown class of 2020. The study examines how social connections among first-years at Brown are related to different health behaviors, including alcohol and drug use.. . All first-year students at Brown are eligible to participate in the study, regardless of their experience with alcohol and/or drugs. Individuals who enroll in the study will complete three web-based surveys – about one every six months.. . If you agree to participate, you will be asked about your connections to other students in the first-year class and about your connections to other important people in your life outside of the first-year class. You’ll also answer questions about your experience with and thoughts about alcohol and drug use.. . If you are a first-year student coming to Brown, you will receive snail mail and email information about the study starting in August, 2016.
