July 11-17, 2016. . Angela Duplechain desired to provide cultural and educational experiences for youth to examine concerns and personal interest during their college selection process. She knew that college visits would offer the youth a first-hand look at colleges and universities. With the approval of her assistants, Michelle Duplechain and JoAnne Henderson, the planning process began. . The cost of the trip is $600.00 which covered the hotels, transportation, two t-shirts, and gift cards (answer trivial questions about historical/colleges/universities). Twenty-seven youth and twenty-four adults will participate. . The universities that will be toured are Southern, Xavier, Louisiana State, Tuskegee, Spelman, Morehouse, and Howard. The bus will drive-by Loyola, Dillard, Tulane, Alabama State, Clark, and Emory Universities. . Educational tours are the John Pettus Bridge, Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Site, White House, Pentagon, Congressman Judge Al Green Office, National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cathedral Church, and Arlington Cemetery. Congressman Judge Al Green is providing a reception and tour of Capitol Hill. . We want to thank GOD for being in the mix of the planning and for his GRACE for blessing us to accomplish the plans.
