At that time, I did pet-sitting in my home and was able to take up to 10 clients at a time. As a full-time accountant, I was not able to provide the time that I wanted for my own dogs, so I quit my job and decided to ‘play with dogs’ full time. Critter Sitters was not founded for marketing reasons or with the intent to make a living in the pet industry. The reason for Critter Sitters was so that I would be able to spend more time with my own pets as well as being able to take care of a lot of other people’s pets. It’s for that reason that there are no other employees other than the occasional relief person while I am on vacation or away at a seminar. Why would I pay someone else to do the things that I have dedicated my life to doing?
