The best way to obtain an estimate is to email photos, along with a brief description of your item to: StudioSelvage@gmail.com. If you do not have access to a digital camera, or prefer to discuss your project in person, you are welcome to schedule an appointment to come to the studio. The more information you provide, the more accurate an estimate you will receive, examples of what to look for include: rough dimensions of the size of the furniture, along with a brief description of the item's current condition (is it wobbly?, does it have popped springs?, etc.). You may opt for an in-home consultation to have fabrics and styling recommended for your upholstered furniture and soft furnishings for an additional in-home consultation fee. Call or email Studio Selvage to schedule your appointment.. . *Estimates are created on the basis that furniture will be totally stripped down to the frame before being reupholstered. Estimates cannot account for unforeseen damages and needed repairs, such as: structural damage, need for new webbing, retying springs, etc. If additional work and expenses are recommended, Studio Selvage will contact the customer for approval before moving forward. . . FABRIC. The next step is to choose fabric and trim (if required). A fabric consultation includes two rounds of hand-picked swatches from various sources and recommendations especially for you and your needs. Studio Selvage encourages you to view our selection of Green House Fabrics during your consultation process. Fabric from an outside source is also welcome, subject to a $125 fabric consultation fee*. Customers may also find and choose fabric on their own. Studio Selvage will get you started on the selection process and recommend the quantity of fabric needed for the job, however; we require all clients to bring a swatch of the fabric in for approval before purchasing. *The fabric consultation fee will be waived if the customer purchases fabric through Studio Selvage via Green House Fabrics.. . DELIVERY OF FURNITURE TO STUDIO. If you are unable to transport the furniture yourself, Studio Selvage will arrange for pick-up and delivery services at potential additional cost. Once the furniture and fabric are at the studio, we will give you an estimated completion date. The fabric consultation fee (if applicable), full cost of fabric, and a 50% deposit of the estimated cost of labor are due upon delivery of your furniture to the studio. . . UPHOLSTERY PROCESS. The work process begins by removing the old fabric and filling, stripping furniture down to the bare frame. We check the frame for motion in the joints and repair them. We inspect springs and webbing and replace them, if required. We retie coil springs using the traditional method of the 8-way hand-tie. We replace the fillings and padding with new materials as necessary. Studio Selvage uses high-quality urethane foam for repairs. Down feathers or other materials may be used upon request at additional cost. We cut and sew fabric components and apply. We then add finishing trims.. . COMPLETION OF WORK. Each piece is personally inspected for quality workmanship. When the work is complete, we will contact you to arrange pick-up or to schedule a delivery date if needed. The balance of the job is due upon completion at the time of pick-up or delivery to your home.. . SHOP POLICIES, PAYMENT AGREEMENTS, DEPOSITS & FEES:. . • Old fabric will be removed and discarded unless salvage is requested by the customer prior to work being started.. • Upon delivery of furniture to the studio, the customer must pay the $125 fabric consultation fee, the full cost of fabric, and a deposit of 50% of the estimated total cost of labor. The fabric consultation fee will be waived if the customer purchases fabric through Studio Selvage via Green House Fabrics. . • Estimates cannot account for unforeseen damages and needed repairs, such as: a need for new webbing, retying springs, or structural repair. If additional expenses & work are recommended, we will contact the customer for approval first before proceeding. . • Balance of payment is due upon completion of furniture at time of pick-up or delivery of items.. • Prompt pick-up of finished pieces is requested unless previous arrangements have been made. If a customer must postpone their scheduled pick-up or delivery date, an additional storage fee may be charged on a case by case basis. . • Some pick-ups and deliveries may require assistance from an outside company. Studio Selvage is happy to make pick-up or delivery arrangements for an additional fee if needed. .
