Supporting Kidds, The Center for Grieving Children and Their Families, provides: . . Support groups for bereaved children ages 5 to 18 and their caregivers which focus on preventing long-term negative effects of unresolved grief on children. Through group discussion, artistic expression, movement activities, and journaling, participants learn positive coping tools and develop a sense of community. Caregivers learn about healthy grief and ways to support their grieving children. . . Individual, group and family psychotherapy services, as well as psychological assessment services, provide treatment under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. . . Group programs are also offered at schools for students experiencing grief and trauma, thereby averting school failure, substance abuse, depression, anxiety and other negative effects of loss. . . The Survival Kit for Families, a written manual about how children grieve and ways to support them in their grief, is available as a reference for families. The Survival Kit for Schools is provided to school guidance counselors, psychologists, nurses or other personnel to help them understand and support bereaved children and deal with loss in the school setting. . .
