Detailed description is This page is dedicated to the art students of Sylacauga High School and Nichols Lawson Middle School. This will showcase their art and classroom. This page is dedicated to the art students of Nichols Lawson Middle School and Sylacauga High School. I am a split unit. I teach at the high school for two blocks a day then travel for the last period of the day at the middle school to teach one class. The courses I teach at SHS are Art 1, Art 2, Art 3, Art 4, and Photography. The class I teach at NLMS is a TAB Choice Based Learning curriculum that may be just 6th grade or a 7th and 8th grade mix of students. I see my students daily at SHS and on a rotating bases of an A and B day schedule at NLMS. My goal is to give my middle school students a well rounded visual arts education where they are exposed to multiple different mediums so when they come to me at the high school they are more prepared. We work heavily on vocabulary and techniques at this age. Once at the high school the course are progressively harder and more technically challenging as they advance ending in Art 4 with their own professional solo showing at a local gallery. I strive to push a broad knowledge that will become more focused as a student develops and matures in the program.
