En 1998, les responsables de Récupex (www.recupexinc.com) investissent dans un atelier de couture pour la création de produits confectionnés à partir de matières récupérées. Un comité est alors mis sur pied pour donner les grandes lignes directrices. Depuis, plusieurs créations identifiées « t.a.f.i. » (T pour Tremplin – A pour Atelier – F pour Formation – I pour Insertion), tout aussi originales qu’exclusives, voient le jour.. . Un an plus tard, Récupex ouvre la boutique t.a.f.i. à même ses locaux sur la rue Hertel à Sherbrooke. Les confections y sont vendues ainsi que des vêtements récupérés de bonne qualité.. . AUJOURD’HUI…une boutique socialement responsable. . En 2004, la boutique t.a.f.i. est relocalisée au 81 rue Wellington nord à Sherbrooke. Sa mission prend de l’ampleur, la boutique regroupe maintenant, au sein d’une même vitrine, les produits de différents organismes à vocation sociale et humanitaire, ainsi que les produits d’artisans indépendants et de petites entreprises issues du commerce équitable.. . Dès lors, t.a.f.i. & COMPAGNIE devient l’appellation officielle de la boutique.. . «Sensibiliser les citoyens à consommer de façon responsable, informer le public sur les bienfaits du développement durable, promouvoir la qualité des produits du commerce équitable»… une mission qui passionne et qui tient à coeur l’équipe de t.af.i. & COMPAGNIE.. . DEPUIS TOUJOURS…un plateau de formation. .
