Tasman Buzulu, 27 km uzunluğunda ve 3 km genişliğinde olup, tamamı Mount Cook Milli Parkı içinde yer alır.Buzul, güney istikametinde Minarets Peak'in güney yamacına ve zirvesi buzula sadece 5 km mesafede olan Cook Dağı'nın (Aoraki) doğu kanadına doğru yayılır. Tasman Buzulu kuzeydoğudan Murchison Buzulu'nun erimiş buzul suyu ile buluşur.Her iki buzulun erimiş suları, Hooker Buzulu ve Müller Buzulu gibi, güneye akan ve Pukaki Gölü'ne dökülen Tasman Nehri'ne açılır.
