Detailed description is A contemporary fine art and letterpress printery producing speciality pieces for lovers of beautifully crafted work. I still remember the first print I pulled. I was 11 years old and I'd meticulously carved a still life into a lino block. Once you have ink under your nails its hard to get it out....30 years later I’m still hooked.. . I love the traditional techniques of printmaking and letterpress....not to mention art, design and good ideas. The Armarie Room has grown from a love of producing beautiful art work with paper and ink. . . Like a Slow Pressure Cooker I've refined these techniques over a long period of time. My explorative nature keeps me constantly experimenting, pushing the boundaries of print production and testing conventions.. . A keen collaborator, working with others is at the heart of my approach. As well as my own projects, I print for other creative people, studios and businesses.. . The Armarie Room is thrilled to have recently moved to Founders Heritage Park, Nelson. The opportunity to develop a contemporary art form alongside the cultural legacy of fine press printing is exciting.. . The printery and machinery are currently being revitalised. There will be some exciting developments during the next 2 months. I look forward to launching The Armarie Room during the Nelson Heritage Festival, April 2018.
