Detailed description is The BAR Project offers a FREE bag of BEANS, AND, RICE with seasonings to those in need with no questions asked. We also move to IMPROVE OUR COMMUNITY ! I firmly believe in BEING the change you need, don't sit back & wait to be saved. You CAN move mountains before you know it, by moving pebbles today. I started this program from a place of darkness & despair!! I'd allowed myself to widdle away during a depressive episode & found myself in dire need!! My refrigerator was on the fritz, oven dead, last of the groceries will be eaten tonight! There were ppl in the city I'd call when I was in a bind that I know would help me out. I also was reassigned a casemgr I, STILL have not met & DF&C flopped on my review soo... no Food Benefits for that particular month! I began making calls. This time tho.........everyone was either away, unavailable or something!! I went to the my kids school, they use to have a little food pantry, Nope No Luck, I have no transportation, I couldn't even afford bus fare. I only asked around for two things Beans And Rice. Does anybody have some Beans & Rice? I can make a meal with that!! I broke down and tucked away my pride, I asked one more person........ Their response inspired The BAR Project. With The BAR Project I want to make hunger a mythological creature that eats leftover veggies. B stands for beans, A, and R, Rice. I'm bagging up beans, rice, a clove of garlic & a pkg of seasonings, basically a meal, lovingly called the "BAR~Baggie" I want them EVERYWHERE.....FREE.....TO ANYONE, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE!! . *my dream is huge!!!!. .
