I am retired from the military after 23 years of service and excited to continue with my passion for graphic design, pyrography and creating unique gifts. I love creating designs and pieces of work that are simple, pleasing to the eye, create a "wow" factor - but focus on the beautiful details. . . Where it all started. The desire to create art on wood came from a walking stick my husband carved. Father's Day was approaching, and I wanted to create a memorable gift he would enjoy. When I presented it to him, he loved it so much he took it to work. His co-workers thought it was incredible and the next thing you know - I started making gifts for special occasions. . . My process. I choose from a selection of woods and occasionally find great pieces that have fallen from the trees in my backyard (poplar, oak, maple, birch). I also work on various materials (prefer unfinished) like knife handles, walking sticks, frames, gun handles, and gun stocks. After creating a design or collaborating with a client, the burning begins. I use pyrography tools, torches, acrylic paint and stain depending on the project. Burning on a piece of wood one line or dot at a time is quite tedious and takes many hours of skill and precision. However, the result for me is a unique and rewarding experience. . . My promise.
